The winning streak has now reached five as the Buckeyes shut out Cleveland State by a score of 2-0.
In the first ever meeting between the Bucks and the Vikings, Ohio State dominated in terms of creating offensive opportunities, outshooting Cleveland State 40-4. The Buckeyes also had the advantage in corner kicks 10-0 over the Vikings.
Ohio State got on the board in the 30th minute when Caitlyn Martin scored off of a header from inside the six yard box. Paige Maxwell and Liz Sullivan were credited with the assists on that goal. Martin would then strike again, this time scoring inside the six yard box in the 55th minute off of a nice cross from Liz Sullivan.
Ohio State will have a week off before they head out west next week to face Arizona and Arizona State. They will then travel to Ann Arbor to open up Big Ten Conference play against the Michigan Wolverines on Sunday, September 26th before returning to Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions on Sunday, October 3rd.

Buckeyes Win 4th Straight, Shut Out Akron 3-0
The beat goes on the Buckeyes as they continued their recent four game winning streak, beating the Akron Zips 3-0. It's the third time in four contests that Ohio State has shut out the opposing team.
The Buckeyes got on the board when Liz Sullivan lofted a shot from 25 yards out over the outstretched hands of Akron goalkeeper Jeny Wolbert and scored her second goal of the season in the 16th minute.
Ohio State would then strike twice in the second half. Kristen Niderhaus scored her first career goal for the Buckeyes in the 51st minute and Tiffany Cameron scored from six yards out in the 71st minute.
The Buckeyes ended up outshooting Akron 18-3, including 10-1 on goal and held a 4-0 advantage in corners. The Buckeyes also put on a defensive clinic, allowing a total of three shots and 1 shot on goal.

Ohio State Women's Soccer Rallies Past West Virginia, Wins 3-1
The Buckeyes were able to come back against West Virginia 3-1 Sunday afternoon at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
The Buckeyes fell behind early when Mountaineers Forward Bri Rodriguez drilled a shot far post from 20 yards out past a diving Rachel Middleman in the 38th minute.
The Buckeyes then came out on fire after halftime as they went on to score three goals in the second half. Lauren Granberg got the Buckeyes on the board when she found the back of the net in the 52nd minute. Granberg scored her first goal of the season on a volley off of a nice ball from Tiffany Cameron.
A little over a minute later, Granberg struck again, scoring the go-ahead goal off of a great feed from midfielder Lauren Steuer.
The Buckeyes would later tack on an insurance goal when Caitlyn Martin scored off of a Courtney Jenkins corner kick to give Ohio State a 3-1 advantage. The goal was Caitlyn Martin's first as a Buckeye.
The Buckeyes will travel down I-70 and take on the Dayton Flyers on Friday night at 6:00 pm. They will then come back home to Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium and take on the Akron Zips on Sunday night at 6:00 pm.

Ohio State Women's Volleyball Double Header
The Sports Imports Classic Continued Saturday, August 28th, as Ohio State Defeated Western Michigan and Pittsburgh at St.John Arena. The lady Buckeyes won 3-1 (25-14, 25-27, 25-18, 25-12). Buckeyes, now (2-0 overall) were lead by Senior, Katie Dull with a match-high 22 points. Dull, also added 19 kills, one solo block, 2 assisted blocks, and one ace serve. After leading 6-5 in set one, Ohio State went on a 9-1 scoring run, pushing the score to 15-6. This run was exactly was OSU needed to secure the win in the first set. The second set was taken by the Broncos as this game had multiple lead changes. An error by the Buckeyes at 26-25 (Broncos) ended the second set allowing Western Michigan to tie it 1-1. Ohio State hit .364 for the match while Western Michigan hit .129.
Ohio State swept Pittsburgh Saturday night (3-0). This victory gave Ohio State their second consecutive Sports Imports Classic title in St. Johns Arena. Katie Dull, registered a match-high 15.5 points, 11 kills, one ace serve, 2 solo blocks, and three assisted blocks. Anna Szerszen, also added 13.5 points will 13 kills, and one assisted block. The shinning star in the match was Emily Danks, as she posted 13 points with seven kills, and career-high six ace serves. These upper-classman for Ohio State are amazing and their seniority and experience show when on the court. This victory over Pittsburgh pushes Ohio State to (3-0 overall) as they hit the road for the Kentucky Classic ( Sept 3-4). The Buckeyes return home to host Michigan Friday, October 1st at 7:00pm.
Ohio State Women's Volleyball Season Opener
Friday, August 27th, The Ohio State Women's Volleyball team started the 2010 season by co-hosting the Sports Imports Classic at St John Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The lady Buckeyes defeated Virginia Commonwealth 3-1, (17-25, 25-13, 25-16, 25-16). It was a 1-2- uh 16 punch for the buckeyes, as #1 Emily Danks, #2 Kelli Barhorst, and #16 Katie Dull for Ohio State were completely dominate in Friday's Match. Barhorst, recorded a career-high 19.5 points and tied her career-high with 13 kills. Danks and Dull locked in 14 and 13.5 points to contribute in the victory over the Rams. Ohio State still has a few kinks to work out before they get set for the heat of their schedule, as they committed 12 service errors. At the end of the day a win is a win, and head coach Geoff Carlston, was happy to head into Saturdays matchup with a victory.
