Buckeyes Win Fifth Straight Behind Martin's Two Goals

The winning streak has now reached five as the Buckeyes shut out Cleveland State by a score of 2-0.

In the first ever meeting between the Bucks and the Vikings, Ohio State dominated in terms of creating offensive opportunities, outshooting Cleveland State 40-4. The Buckeyes also had the advantage in corner kicks 10-0 over the Vikings.

Ohio State got on the board in the 30th minute when Caitlyn Martin scored off of a header from inside the six yard box. Paige Maxwell and Liz Sullivan were credited with the assists on that goal. Martin would then strike again, this time scoring inside the six yard box in the 55th minute off of a nice cross from Liz Sullivan.

Ohio State will have a week off before they head out west next week to face Arizona and Arizona State. They will then travel to Ann Arbor to open up Big Ten Conference play against the Michigan Wolverines on Sunday, September 26th before returning to Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions on Sunday, October 3rd.
