Alex Wimmers has been named one of three finalists for the College Baseball Foundation National Pitcher of the Year Award.
Wimmers, a junior from Cincinnati and Archbishop Moeller, was drafted No. 21 Overall in the First Round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins.
Alex (9-0) posted the most wins in an undefeated season for a Buckeye pitcher. He led the Big Ten with a 1.60 ERA and held opponents to a .218 batting average.
The two-time Big Ten Pitcher of the Year joins Drew Pomeranz, University of Mississippi, and Chris Sale, Florida Gulf Coast as finalists for the award.
